Lolita: Lolita is a rich and beautiful girl. She is also stubborn and strong willed and altogether spoilt. But bundled in that spirited and impatient person is a heart of gold. Just turned 20, Lolita is the eldest daughter of Jayanto Chatterjee. Her younger sister, Labanyo, 19 years old is her didi's exact opposite: quiet, cool and controlled. Arup: Eldest son of Hemangini. He is married to Shailaja. They have one son and one daughter. Both are married. Both of them chose their own partners through a process of prolonged dating.

Indra (32) is their eldest child. He is married to Rajani (28). Kurchi (5) is their daughter.

Ishika (28) and her husband Kanishka Sen (30) are Arup and Shailaja's daughter and jamai.

No one talks about Arup in this home. Arup left his wife and children for another woman. Today he is settled in USA. But Hemangini Devi has always supported Shailaja and stood by her. In fact, she has handed over the keys of the Lahiri Bari to Shailaja. However, she treats rich and poor, high and low alike. She is a strict disciplinarian but at the same time a woman of great warmth, understanding and a home grown wisdom.

Aloke He is Hemangini's second son. His wife Raanu 48. Aloke is totally dependent on his boudi in matters of the household. He admires and respects her. Never takes a step with consulting Shailaja. Raanu, his wife, is a very simple person. Everybody tends to take advantage of her good nature and simplicity, Shailaja protects her from being victimized. Aloke's son is Ishaan

Raima is daughter of Aloke and Raanu. Graduating in Broadcast Journalism.

Hemanti: Daughter of Hemangini Devi. Her son Emon 28 and his wife Dolon stay here in the Lahiri family. Emon's father has remarried after his wife's death. There is no relationship between Emon and his father.
