Gorgeous Vidya Balan in a Bengali-adda with Ghosh Babu:

On 14th April, STAR Jalsha presented the Nabo Barsho Special episode of Ghosh & Company with the charming Vidya Balan. The classical beauty and talented actor Vidya Balan had a candid conversation with Rituparno Ghosh.

Since Ghosh & Company has been featuring prominent and successful Bengalis who have made a mark in and outside Kolkata, Rituparno clarifies Vidya's presence as a celebrity guest on the show saying, "Some are born as Bengalis and some become Bengalis by simply adopting the culture - like Vidya."

Though born in a Malayali family, Vidya has watched Bengali films since her college days and she is a big fan of Satyajit Ray. So, when people often compare her with the Madhabi Chattopadhyay, she giggles like a child saying, "I was so enthralled to meet Madhabi Di because I always respected her as a Ray heroine and I feel so proud to be compared with her."

Speaking about her association with Pradeep Sarkar, she said, "I have known him for a long time and have done few television commercials together." Commenting on her films Vidya says, "Working with Pradeep Sarkar, Raju Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Priyadarshan and Mani Ratnam has given me an enormous opportunity to prove my talent. Just after Parineeta, I relished working with Priyan; I even learned Bharat Natyam for Bhool Bhulaiya."

Talking about her very recent films Vidya said, "After doing wonderful films like Parineeta, Bhool Bhulaiya and Lage Raho Munnabhai, I was confused about what to do next. But now I know what kind of films I want to do. This experience of choosing the right kind of movie for me is a self taught process."

The conversation ended with a promise from Rituparno's side that Vidya will soon be seen in a Ghosh film.
